This is how a third grader spells today... I'm not sure if my son was exceptional or what, but his spelling was incomparable compared to kids today. Of course, I was diligent in teaching him so many things before he first went off to school that by the third grade they were ready to advance him into a high school level teaching.
But this... is the 'fine' example of the state of our schools. Pathetic. I actually heard that some parents are now sending their kids to first grade not even potty trained. Disgusting. Parents are FAILING their children. These things are not the school's responsibility, they are the parents.
